A Kia Maintenance Plan™ is a prepaid maintenance program backed by Kia America, Inc.

A Kia Maintenance Plan is based on Kia factory-recommended maintenance services, which can be performed by any U.S. Kia dealership. Services are performed by Kia factory-trained technicians, using Genuine Kia Parts, and feature full synthetic oil on all plans. Should you decide to sell your Kia, the Kia Maintenance Plan is transferable to the new owner.4

Completing routine maintenance is important to help keep your Kia in optimal condition, which helps maintain performance. One of the best ways to maintain your Kia and simplify vehicle ownership is to purchase prepaid maintenance with a Kia Maintenance Plan.

Is a Kia Maintenance Plan™ available on new retail purchase and lease vehicles?

Yes, A Kia Maintenance Plan™(or KMP) is available for new retail purchase and/or lease vehicles. Plans are not available for new fleet purchase and/or fleet lease vehicles.

Are Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) or Pre-Owned (PO) vehicles eligible for KMP?

Eligible CPO & PO vehicles greater than 1 year from RDR sale date are eligible for Kia Maintenance Plan™ Select Services plans – 1 to 6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services)1, depending on the length of coverage purchased by the consumer. Kia Maintenance Plan Select Services plans covers certain routine maintenance & only include the following (exceptions apply for electric vehicle models):1

  • Full synthetic oil and oil filter replacement
  • Tire Rotation
  • Comprehensive Multipoint Inspection (MPI)

    • Kia Maintenance Plans are available in 1 to 6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services)1

    For eligible Kia vehicles already in service, Kia Maintenance Plan™ Select Services is also available. It is a prepaid maintenance plan based routine maintenance services for multiple vehicle types. KMP Select Services cost is dependent on your specific vehicle and on the length of KMP Select Services plan purchased.

    • Kia Maintenance Plan Select Services are available in 1 to 6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services)1
    How long is a Kia Maintenance Plan contract period?

    The length of contract is dependent on the KMP plan purchased by the customer. Coverage under a KMP Contract begins on the PURCHASE DATE shown on the front of the Kia Maintenance Plan Contract after purchase and expires according to the NUMBER OF SERVICES REDEEMED or TERM LIMIT, whichever comes first, of the plan selected.

    • Kia Maintenance Plans are available in 1 to 6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services)1
    • Kia Maintenance Plan Select Services are available in 1 to 6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services)1
    How many services does a Kia Maintenance Plan include?

    The quantity of services is dependent on the number services in the KMP plan purchased by the customer. KMP plans are available in 1-6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services), depending on the selected coverage purchased in the customer's KMP plan1. Kia Maintenance Plan Select Services are available in 1 to 6-year2 increments, covering 2 services per year (i.e., 2-12 services)1

    What vehicle maintenance services are included in a Kia Maintenance Plan?

    Kia Maintenance Plans are based on Kia factory-recommended maintenance “Replace” services listed in the vehicle Owner’s Manual. KMP services include the following (exceptions apply for electric vehicle models):1

    • Full synthetic oil and oil filter replacement
    • Cabin air filter replacement
    • Brake fluid replacement
    • Comprehensive Multipoint Inspections (MPI)
    • Tire Rotation
    • Engine air filter replacement
    • Spark plug replacement
    • High Voltage Coolant (EVs only)
    • These services are based on factory-recommended maintenance requirements but will not necessarily align with the time and mileage intervals specified in the vehicle Owner’s Manual.
    • KMP does NOT cover all “Replace” services or any services / repairs listed as ‘Inspect’ found in the Owner’s Manual, even when revealed by inspections that the items need to be replaced.
    How often can I get my vehicle serviced?

    The frequency of Kia Maintenance Plan service redemption is NOT limited by minimum/maximum time or mileage. KMP is designed to let the customer redeem services based on individual vehicle use & discretion (as long as services are performed before KMP contract expiration). Refer to your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual for the Normal maintenance schedule intervals.

    Where can I get my vehicle serviced with KMP?

    Kia Maintenance Plan service can be redeemed at any participating U.S. Kia dealership.3AT THIS TIME NO DEALERS IN FLORIDA ARE KMP PARTICIPATING KIA DEALERS. If you need assistance locating a participating Kia dealership, you may visit https://www.kia.com/us/en/find-a-dealer/landing or contact KUS Consumer Affairs during normal business hours at 1-800-333-4542 for assistance.

    Why do I have to go to a Kia dealership for KMP service?

    Only Kia dealerships are certified to complete Kia Maintenance Plan services and be reimbursed by KUS for services rendered.

    If my Kia Dealer will not perform KMP maintenance, what can I do?

    Please contact KUS Consumer Affairs during normal business hours at 1-800-333-4542 for assistance.

    Why are “Fuel additives” listed in the Maintenance Schedule “Replace” items not covered by KMP?

    Per Kia Owner’s Manuals, “Fuel additives” are intended for customers who do NOT use good quality gasoline which includes fuel additives regularly. Kia Maintenance Plans do not include the cost of fuel additives as fuel selection/quality varies by consumer. Consumers should discuss fuel additives with their Kia Service Consultant to determine if it would benefit their vehicle.

    Are there any exclusions or limitations related to a KMP contract?

    Kia Maintenance Plan Contracts will only cover those services listed under the Plan coverage selected by the customer on the front of their KMP Contract. KMP Contracts do NOT cover any other maintenance items or services, NOR will KMP Contracts pay for, among other things:

    1. Any mechanical breakdown repairs, whether associated with or not associated with a prescribed service.
    2. Any type of state or local taxes required on any prescribed services.
    3. Any upgraded or extra cost products used during a prescribed service.
    4. Any maintenance services performed by anyone other than the Selling Dealer or a participating Kia Dealer.
    5. Any maintenance services in excess of those listed under the Plan coverage selected by KMP Contract owners on the front of their ontract.
    6. Any costs KMP Contract owners may incur for consequential or secondary damages; personal expenses; any parts, items, labor or fluids not listed; any fuel additives.
    7. Liability for damage to property or injury to, or death of any person arising out of the operation, maintenance, shipment, storage or use of KMP Contract owner's vehicle whether associated with or not associated with a prescribed service.

    Refer to your KMP Contract for details of all exclusions and limitations.

    Can I get a refund for a KMP service if my vehicle gets serviced outside of a participating U.S. Kia Dealership?

    There are NO reimbursem*nts for services completed outside of a participating U.S. Kia dealership.

    What if I have a valid KMP contract, but the Kia dealership charges me for a KMP service?

    Any participating U.S. Kia dealership may perform the services listed under the Plan coverage selected by you on the front of this Contract without charge to you for such services (except for any state or local taxes). If a participating Kia dealership does charge you for such services, submit copies of all invoices and receipts pertaining to the authorized services within sixty (60) days from the date the service was performed, along with a copy of the front of your Contract to: Kia America, Inc., Attn: Consumer Assistance Center, P.O. Box 52410, Irvine, CA 92619-2410. Failure to comply with the responsibilities outlined above will result in the denial of YOUR reimbursem*nt. If you have any questions, please contact KUS Customer Service at the following number: 1-800-333-4542. Refer to your KMP Contract for details of all exclusions and limitations.

    Can I cancel my KMP contract?

    KMP purchased contracts may be cancelled by the purchaser at any time during the first sixty (60) days after the date they signed their Contract or until a maintenance service has been redeemed under this Contract, whichever occurs earlier. To cancel, the purchaser must return to and/or contact their Selling Dealer. A one hundred percent (100%) refund of the PURCHASE PRICE will be made. Refer to your KMP Contract for details of all exclusions and limitations.

    • If the vehicle and corresponding Contract have been financed, the lienholder is authorized to receive any refund amounts unless the purchaser provides the Selling Dealer with written documentation from the lienholder stating that the finance agreement has been paid in full.
    • Upon our receipt of notification of a total loss or repossession, the Contract will be terminated and all rights and interests to a refund under this Contract will immediately transfer to the lienholder and the lienholder will be named sole payee for any refund amounts.

    For policies created in California, in addition to the above policy, if the purchaser cancels after sixty (60) days of PURCHASE DATE or if any maintenance service has been redeemed, a pro-rata refund will be made based on the retail value of services remaining. Cancellations after the first sixty (60) days are subject to an administration fee that KUS will charge and retain of $25 or ten percent (10%) of the PURCHASE PRICE, whichever is less. Refer to your KMP Contract for details of all exclusions and limitations.

    Can I cancel a plan if I am no longer able to get to the original Dealer who sold the KMP?

    Please contact the selling Dealer to request KMP contract cancellation electronically (via email). Normal restrictions on cancellation apply.

    Can I cancel a plan if the original Dealer who sold the KMP is no longer in business?

    Please contact KUS Consumer Affairs during normal business hours at 1-800-333-4542 for assistance. Normal restrictions on cancellation apply.

    Are Kia Maintenance Plans transferable if I sell my vehicle with available services remaining before the contract expires?

    Valid KMP contracts may be transferred to another owner4 (except an entity in the business of selling or leasing motor vehicles) but NOT to another vehicle. Unless cancelled or terminated in accordance with the CANCELLATION section described in your contract, KUS is obligated to perform under the terms of the Contract, regardless of whether your vehicle is sold or otherwise transferred to another owner during the term of the Contract. Any subsequent owner of your vehicle must provide evidence of ownership of the vehicle in order to obtain services remaining under the terms of the Contract. For the avoidance of doubt, the Contract may NOT be transferred to any entity in the business of selling or leasing motor vehicles.
