Devore Sr. Mr. Devore was born in Baldwin Park, California and raised in Passaic, New Jersey. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during which time he was stationed in the far east as a radio operator. A graduate of Seton Hall University and the University of Bridgeport, he worked in a corporate accounting position for Pepperidge Farms, Beech Nut Corporation, Alcan Aluminum and was controller for Teledyne.

Most recently he owned Comprehensive Accounting in Forest Park, GA. for 18 years. After his retirement in 1998 he enjoyed volunteering as a reader at Hickory Flat Elementary School. Along with his wife, he was involved in mentoring engaged couples through the Marriage Encounter program. He enjoyed volunteering as a store keeper at Stately Oaks Plantation in Jonesboro.

He was deeply involved in church activities and enjoyed sports, reading, gardening and political activity, but most of all he delighted in his family, his friends, his community and his faith and though he is with God now, his wisdom, his humor and his love endure. She was instrumental to their partnership, mostly working behind the scenes as a buyer and decorator.

He was born April 17, 1920 in Geevagh, County Sligo, Ireland, to the late Owen and Catherine Waters Cullen. In 1923, he emigrated to the U.S. and was raised in Oswego, NY and New York City by his adoptive parents, the late Dr. Francis C. Clark and Mary Nangle Clark.

He graduated from All Hallows High School in New York City, Niagara University, and Georgetown University School of Medicine. His surgical training was at Jersey City Medical Center in NJ and Bellevue Hospital in New York City. Dr. Clark was a Captain in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War as a thoracic surgeon. Upon his discharge from the military he returned to Asheville, and practiced thoracic and general surgery in Buncombe, and Cherokee counties and in Atlanta, Georgia.

Surviving are his daughter, Catherine Clark Latta of Manteo; three sons, Francis C. Clark, of Davidson, Kevin O. Clark, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and Cullen P. After being honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant, he became a Certified Public Accountant and earned his MBA from Georgia State University.

Bill worked in the public accounting field until his death. He was owner of James W. Benson, CPA, a public accounting firm in Atlanta, GA. In passing, we have lost a truly good and honorable man. The surviving family is comforted that through the grace of God they will all be united again.
